- Jeth Sennt grew up in D'Bala Province on Bajor during the Cardassian occupation. Both of his parents, members of the artisan D'Jarra, were killed by the Cardassians when he was a child, and his sister Nara was killed by two Cardassians as he watched from hiding. He has never told anyone this, and bears a burden of guilt for it. Although he knows intellectually that he would have been killed had he tried to intervene, he still feels that he should have done so. To this day he is driven to protect the weak and the innocent. Equally, he refuses to use violence except in defense of himself or those under his protection.
At Starfleet Academy, he took an intensive course in Advanced Research Engineering and was chosen to serve his Cadet Cruise on the shakedown trials of the USS Thelev NCC-74591, an Everest Class Explorer. During his first tour of duty he served on the USS Indefatigable NCC-71667, an Akira Class Cruiser.
