 Duck Blind One is situated about 1.5 million kilometres east of Freeman's Island. It overlooks a village of the H'Ranna, a primitive humanoid race.
  The H'Ranna are a tall, hirsute race with a paleolithic hunter-gatherer culture. Physically, they resemble the fabled Yeti or Sasquatch of Earth. Their culture is similar to certain pre-Columbian Indian nations on Earth's North America continent. |
 The H'Ranna village is a small collection of huts in a clearing by a stream, all overlooked by a rocky bluff. The village centres on a large lodge surrounded by living and storage huts. A central gathering place in front of the lodge has several large communal firepits. All ceremonies and public gatherings take place either in the lodge or at the firepits. Duck Blind One is concealed in the bluff overlooking the village. Sensors are emplaced throughout the village and surrounding areas. |
